Trento, 8th July – Sounding Images – Screening Sounds (SISS) was officially launched today, Tuesday 8th July, at the Aula Magna of the Conservatorio “Bonporti” in Trento. After opening remarks by Dr. Claudio Martinelli, President, and Prof. Calogero Di Liberto, Director of the Conservatorio “Bonporti,” who both welcomed a highly engaged press conference, the project was presented in its various research and production areas by Prof. Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, General Coordinator of SISS, with Trento serving as the Lead Partner.
SISS is a monumental and visionary project aimed at fostering a dialogue between Sound and Image, exploring unknown realms and relationships. The concept originated at the Trento Conservatory and later took shape through the collaboration of three national partners: “Tito Schipa” Conservatory of Lecce, IULM University of Milan, and IED Milan, who participated remotely in the Trento conference via interventions by their respective coordinators: Prof. Stefano Lombardi Vallauri (IULM), Prof. Giulio Colangelo (“Tito Schipa”), and Prof. Painè Cuadrelli (IED).
Supported by the European Union under the NextGenerationEU program through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) as part of strategic partnerships and initiatives to innovate the international dimension of the AFAM system, the SISS project will offer the public a rich calendar of events, including concerts, workshops, laboratories, audiovisual installations, and an international competition, taking place across Italy and Europe.
