Imaginary Landscapes | fixed media variation

[A/V installation for 4 screens and 4 loudspeakers) is an intermedia installation developed as part of the ongoing research and production project curated by LEM – Lecce Electronic Music, the Electronic Music department of the Conservatory of Lecce. The work is presented on four screens and four loudspeakers arranged spatially to offer a simultaneous and multi-layered experience of images and sound.

Presented as an intermediate outcome of the research and production process, the installation functions as a continuously evolving environment—an imaginary landscape that escapes linear narrative and the centrality of a single viewpoint. Visual and sonic materials—comprising field recordings, manipulation, and digital generation—overlap in temporal layers that blur the boundaries between documentary and abstraction, the recognizable and the ambiguous. The creative process will continue until December 2025, when the final version of the work is expected.

The project involved active participation from LEM students, under the supervision of project tutor Franz Rosati (Studio Rosati) and faculty members Giulio Colangelo and Gianluca Catuogno.

Imaginary Landscapes is presented at Fabra i Coats as part of Festival Mixtur 2025 in Barcelona, a leading international event dedicated to contemporary music, sound art, and hybrid artistic practices.”
