Film Concert — Sounding Images: Sounds, Heritage, and Identities of the Forgotten Italy in the Italian Documentary Films of the Sixties

A film concert featuring the screening of four documentary films accompanied by live performances of newly reimagined versions of their original soundtracks, arranged for the Bonporti Ensemble under the direction of Prof. Andrea Raffanini.

The musical arrangements have been created by students from Italian and international music academies, alongside two commissioned works by the “Bonporti” Conservatory from composers Vittorio Montalti and Emanuele Casale.
This project has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Cineteca di Bologna Foundation, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma, Videa Group srl, Cini Foundation of Venice.

• Excerpts from Racconto di un Affresco (Luciano Emmer, 1940-1946).
  Original soundtrack by Roman Vlad
  Adaption and orchestration based on the manuscript preserved at the Institute for Music of the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice, by the students of the Academia Națională de Muzică “Gheorghe Dima”, Cluj-Napoca 
• Processioni in Sicilia (Michele Gandin, 1965). Original soundtrack by Egisto Macchi  rearranged by Emanuele Casale
• Divino Amore (Cecilia Mangini, 1963).  Original soundtrack by Egisto Macchi
  rearranged by Vittorio Montalti
• Magia lucana (Luigi Di Gianni, 1958). Original soundtrack by Diego Carpitella rearranged by the students of “Bonporti” Conservatory coordinated by Prof. Raul Masu
